AFAF Tournament

Tournament information

AFAF Tournament information

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS INFORMATION
Our school is a part of a larger organization called the American Fighting Arts Federation (AFAF).
AFAF is having its Annual Federation tournament in June. The focus of the tournament is to have fun, fellowship with other students in our federation and the experience of participating in a tournament. Competition is not the focus; we want all of our students to do their personal best. Medals will be awarded.
When: Saturday, June 30th at 10:00 am
How: All competition will be divided by belt rank and age group. This is open to all students with yellow belts or higher.
There will be 3 divisions: Flying Sidekick, Forms (Kata), & Sparring
How much: $10 for 1 event
                        $15 for 2 events
                        $20 for 3 events
We ask that everyone participating pre-pay and pre-register with Mrs. May, so I can accurately order enough medals.
 Why:
· This tournament is a great way for students to meet and  fellowship with other students in our Martial Arts Federation of schools. Because we are not close to another Federation school we do not have many opportunities for our students to fellowship with each other.
· This is also a learning opportunity for everyone. We want our students to continue to grow and improve as martial artists.  This is a safe and fun way to be exposed to the competition aspect of the Martial Arts in a Safe and fun way. It is only going to be students from our federation involved and our Federation Instructors controlling the tournament.
· This is a great price for tournament competition. For our students the time and travel are the biggest hurdle.
· We would love to have as many students as possible participate. If you are interested please see Mr. or Mrs. May and we can get you started.

AFAF Karate Tournament
Saturday June 30, 2012
 Tournament Location
Burnette Karate
3118 Jodeco Road
McDonough, Ga 30253
Just off I-75 at exit 222
 Little Dragons/ Rangers 10 am
(The other schools call their 4-6yr olds Rangers)
Juniors 11am
Dragons/Rangers please be at location by 9:30 am for check in, changing and bathrooms.
v Little Dragons (6-7yr olds) can participate in flying sidekick and forms. In doing forms they will be in the junior division because the other schools do not teach forms to Little Dragons at the same pace we do.
v  Little Dragons (3-5 yr olds) can participate in flying sidekicks ONLY.
v Juniors can participate in all three events but they MUST have gear for sparring or borrow some from us. We have a couple sets of gear we can bring with us.
v Juniors must have: Headgear, gloves, feet gear, mouthpiece, and boys must wear a cup.
v Adults can participate in all three if there are enough adults registered. Last year the other schools didn’t have adults to participate so there was no adult division. If any of our adults want to participate please tell me ASAP so I can get the other schools to encourage their adult students to participate as well. We want everyone to get the opportunity to participate so we are really hoping we can all bring adult students.
