Reminder on Uniforms

Uniform reminder

We want to remind everyone to take care of their uniforms. With regular class attendance uniforms are worn many, many times. We realize it is difficult to keep white uniforms clean but it is not impossible. Please do not come in with a dirty, wrinkled, or torn uniform. If you wear your uniform to and from class please take extra care to keep it clean. Your uniform is a representation of our school especially when you are in public. We want respect to be shown not only for our school but for Martial Arts and the discipline it represents. Parents please teach your children how to take care of their uniform. Please remember our uniform requirements and expectations.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

·         Uniforms must be neat and clean. (Wash uniforms only not your belt.)
·         Uniform Jackets are worn left over right.
·         Please tie uniforms closed with the string provided.
·         Please cuff sleeves and pants to keep them out of student’s way. (This is for safety reasons, so you or your child does not fall)

T-Shirt Time

We will have t-shirts available on Friday evening for those who pre-ordered. If you have a MAY MARTIAL ARTS T-SHIRT ONLY you may wear it in class.
It must be tucked in to pants and then the belt put on, on top of that.  You may wear the t-shirts in place of the uniform top only in class. During testing uniform tops must be worn.

If you did not order a shirt we ordered just a few extras. If we find we need to we may place another order later in the summer.

Head Instructor - Mr. May demonstrating Ni Achi Cho Dan at the UFAFI conference , October 2011.

Mr. May not only teaches his students to perform with strength, power and control but he demonstrates it every time he does his forms. Mr. May was testing for his third degree black belt in front a well respected group of Martial Artists. The pressure was on but I know you can agree with me he did a great job!

Belt Tests Results

This Saturday, May 5th, we had our Gup Belt test. We are so very proud of everyone who participated. We want to congratulate everyone on a job well done. Thank you very much to Mr. Dwayne Sharpe for coming down to sit on our testing board. We were privileged to have him in attendance.

We began testing by showing respect to our nation's flag and our parents.

The Juniors are demonstrating their testing kata (forms).

Self defense is another portion of our curriculum the students must demonstrate to be promoted to their next belt level.

Flying sidekicks are a fun way of demonstrating the agility, form and technique required to complete this portion of the testing.

As a student at the intermediate belt level students are required to use the control, techniques and movement they have been practicing since basic levels to spar with another person to demonstrate controlled fighting techniques.

Our Juniors did a great job and we congratulate all of them on their promotion to their next belt level.

Congratulations to Bryan, Theisman, Caleb, Madeline, & Nathan

The younger group of students testing Saturday were our Little Dragons. These children are 6 & 7 yrs old. They are just at the beginning levels of form, control, & practice of the techniques.

Mr. May wants to teach the children to defend themselves from the ground as well as from a standing position.
The boys & girls demonstrate forms and movements to show their ability to turn and demonstrate a technique.

Mr. May is reminding our daughter to not only have proper form but strength to every punch.

Congratulations Little Dragons!

You did a great job!

Daniel, Juliette & Luke

Our final group was our adult class. These students show remarkable dedication and determination as they push their bodies and minds to learn new information and movements they have never done before. Even while working full time jobs and attending school full time for our teenagers. Each adult gives up family time and time away from home to be a part of our classes. We are so very proud of this particular group of students.

Each one of our Adults are very valuable to us. We know how much time they give up to study, train and improve themselves. We are very grateful for the time the adults dedicate to learn and grow in their Martial Arts training.

Congratulations Jay, Kevin, & Andrea

Each and every day of training and dedication makes our students the best they can be. The periodic public showing of this progress is simply an outward demonstration of the growth our students and their families have made in increasing their awareness and abilities as a Martial Artists. We are so very proud of the students we have and the progress in which they have made. We pray to build strong, well-mannered, productive members of our community. Thank you to all of our families who dedicate themselves to guiding their children & themselves in this growth and allowing us to be a part of it.

Our next Gup Belt test will be June 23rd!
