What do we offer...
What do we offer....
The mission of May Martial Arts is to provide
the finest instruction in the mental, physical, and character building
aspects of the martial arts.
At
May Martial Arts we uphold important values like discipline, respect,
integrity, patience, loyalty, and honor. It is our goal to create an
environment that gives each individual the opportunity to pursue and achieve a
greater level of personal success and freedom.
Students
are empowered by our dynamic style to; achieve greater self-discipline,
improved self-esteem, a positive outlook, a drive to constantly improve, and an
attitude that refuses to give up. These values and life-skills will lead to
remarkable improvements in academics, careers, and relationships.
What will my child/self learn:
At May
Martial Arts students will learn a style that blends the traditional Korean Art
of Tang Soo Do with Judo, Aikido, Jujitsu (Submission Grappling), Filipino
Stick Fighting (Kali), and Pressure Point Applications, based upon the system
of Chun Kuk Do (Chuck Norris System) to form a comprehensive self-defense
system.
Tang Soo
Do is a traditional Korean based Martial Art. Our style of Tang Soo Do is
derived from the Korean Art of Moo Duk Kwan. The Founder of
the style is Grand Master Hwang Kee (1914-1986). Grand Master Kee mastered
traditional Korean styles of Martial Arts before the occupation of Korea by
Japan, during this occupation he escaped to China and studied Chinese Kung Fu,
and after the occupation was over he returned to Korea and assimilated what he
learned into the unique Art of Tang Soo Do, which is recognized as one of the
most effective and powerful Martial Arts styles in the World.
There
are several reasons that people become involved in the Martial Arts.
- physical fitness
- weight-loss aspects of training.
- discipline
- self-control to their lives
- safety
- self-defense.
We offer classes at different age groups that address these areas of
interest. Safety of each student is of the utmost importance, all classes are
taught by Mr. May who is a certified Instructor with over 22 years of
experience in the Martial Arts, and is certified in CPR and First Aid.

We have a wonderful year. I want to share some of the things we did this year and the accomplishments of our students. Please see our Facebook page for more detailed information.
Parent Classes this year were a lot of fun
Summer Picnic in June
Our 4&5 yr old & 6&7 yr old classes are continuing to grow.
Our students represented our school very well at the
Southern Open Championship Tournament in 2015.
This years LaGrange Christmas Parade
We had our largest group of students to date.
We were so thankful for all of the parental support and
presence to keep our students safe so we can have a great time.
The BIG move!
We ended 2015 by moving to a larger studio space. We are so thankful to everyone who helped make this move possible.
These are pictures from our first night of classes.
